11 Tamil Nadu Medical Colleges To Be Virtually Opened By PM Modi

India, New Delhi: In order to improve the country’s health infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 11 medical colleges in Tamil Nadu via video conference on Wednesday.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, MBBS seats have increased by 79.60 percent (from 51,348 to 92,222 seats) and PG seats have expanded by 80.70 percent (from 31,185 to 56,374 seats) over the last seven years (PMO).

Prior to 2014, the overall number of medical seats was estimated to be at 82,500. There has been a growth of nearly 80%, or 66,000 seats, in the last seven years.

From 387 to 596, the total number of medical colleges (including public and private) has increased by nearly 54%.
