According to a statement released by the Maharashtra government earlier this evening, Mumbai was home to 190 of the 198 Omicron cases registered in the state. The disparity between state and BMC figures was tough to reconcile.

According to the latest BMC report, there are now 160 Omicron-infected Mumbai residents who have never been internationally. The overall number of Omicron cases in the city has grown to 290.

The K-west ward, which contains Andheri West, Juhu, and Versova, has the largest number of people who tested positive for Omicron, followed by the D ward, which includes Malabar Hill, Mahalaxmi, and Tardeo.
