India, New Delhi: The Delhi Nursery admissions application process began on December 15 and is still running. For the academic year 2022-23, admission to private Delhi schools has begun for entry-level classes like as Nursery, Kindergarten (KG), and Class 1. Application forms for Delhi schools must be received by January 21, 2022. The Directorate of Education (DoE) in Delhi will announce the initial list on February 4, and the admission process will end on March 31.
The Department of Education has stipulated that the number of seats in entry-level classes not fall below the preceding three years’ greatest number of seats in entry-level classes (2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22)
“Fair, reasonable, well-defined, equitable, non-discriminatory, unambiguous, and transparent admission criteria must be established and applied by schools.” No school may employ a criterion that the department has eliminated, such as collecting capitation fees or accepting donations. “Pre-schools or montessori schools operated by registered societies or trusts as branches of recognised independent schools will have to follow a single admission process for their pre-school and main school, as they will be deemed one institution,” according to an official statement.
Age Requirements for Entry-Level Classes in Delhi Schools
Three years, four years, and five years, respectively, will be the minimum age for admission to pre-school (nursery), pre-primary (KG), and Class 1 by March 31, 2022. The Delhi government has issued instructions for open category admissions, with seats reserved for Economically Weaker Sections, Disadvantaged Groups (EWS/DG), and Children with Special Needs (CSN) (CwSN).
Age Relaxation for Admission to Delhi Schools
A 30-day age relaxation in the minimum and upper age limitations for certain topics may be given at the discretion of the head of school. To request an age relaxation, parents must submit a manual application to the Head of School/Principal.
