Guidelines for the IIM CAT Exam 2021: The Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad) is preparing to hold the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2021 on Sunday (November 28, 2021). Around 2.31 lakh applicants have registered for the IIM CAT 2021 exam. IIM Ahmedabad has established a CAT 2021 dress code for male and female applicants taking the exam, which must be strictly adhered to on exam day.

On October 27, the IIM CAT 2021 Admit Card was published. Candidates who have not yet downloaded their CAT admit card for the year 2021 can do so at, the official website of IIM CAT.

The IIM CAT exam will be held in three shifts: 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 12:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and 4:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The results of the IIM CAT Exam 2021 will be released in the second week of January 2022.

IIM-A has chosen to lower the number of questions asked in the exam, and the exam duration has been cut from three to two hours, as it was previous year.

The exam is a computer-based test, so anyone taking it should keep that in mind (CBT). The Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability components of the CAT 2021 question paper are divided into three categories (QA).

Important dress code standards for IIM CAT 2021:

  • Candidates must wear masks at all times, since they will not be allowed to sit in the exam hall if they do not.
  • Bags are not permitted inside the examination room.
  • Candidates should avoid wearing shoes with thick soles or high heels.
  • Because they have very thin bottom soles, candidates should choose slippers or slip on shoes.
  • As part of the dress code for students at IM Ahmedabad, only socks, cardigans, plain pullovers, and sweaters without pockets will be permitted within the exam hall.
  • Many pockets should be avoided in jeans, trousers, or pants, as they will not be permitted.
  • Large-buttoned garments worn by pupils will not be permitted inside the CAT exam centre.
  • Candidates should not wear any jewellery or metal accessories throughout the exam.
  • Any item of greater worth should not be brought into the exam room. Henna on the palm is not permitted since it interferes with the capture of the candidate’s biometric fingerprint.

Candidates for the CAT 2021 should keep the following instructions in mind:

  • Candidates should arrive at least 30 minutes before the exam centre closes. On the admit card, the reporting time is given.
  • Candidates must print their admit cards on A4 paper from the official website and bring their original identification to the exam centre.
  • All candidates must adhere to the Covid requirements, which include wearing a mask and carrying hand sanitizer.
  • Candidates will have 40 minutes to answer each question. Each session will be extended by 13 minutes and 20 seconds for PwD applicants.
  • Some of the questions in the CAT 2021 exams will be multiple-choice (MCQs), while others will not.
  • In the exam centre, candidates are not permitted to use any electronic devices, including cell phones, watches, calculators, or goggles. They can utilise the virtual calculators for any computation.
  • Candidates will have three alternatives after answering the questions: Save and Next, Clear Response, and Mark for Review and Next.
  • Before beginning to answer the paper, carefully read the directions.
