In Placement Drives, IIT Students get Over Rs 1 crore in Packages, The Top Offer is Rs 2.15 Crore on day one

Officials claimed on Thursday that placement drives at several Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) got off to a good start, with several students obtaining packages worth more than Rs 1 crore and the institutes performing better than in the pre-COVID years.

At IIT Delhi, at least 60 candidates were offered deals worth more than Rs 1 crore. An international software corporation gave a Rs 2.15 crore annual package to an IIT Roorkee student.

Similarly, an IIT Bombay student was promised USD 2.74 lakh per year (approximately Rs 2.05 crore), while an IIT Guwahati student was offered Rs 2 crore per year.

IIT Students get Over Rs 1 crore in Packages news

Uber, one of the most well-known firms in the United States, has employed five students from IIT (BHU) Varanasi. One student received a job offer in the firm’s US branch, while another received a package worth Rs 2 crore.

IIT BHU students received 232 offer letters from 55 firms, averaging Rs 32.89 lakh per year with a minimum of Rs 12 lakh.

“The number of offers received by the campus has climbed by over 45 percent over last year, and the suggested remuneration provided by firms visiting on December 1, 2021 has increased by over 35 percent,” said Anishya Obhrai Madan, head of IIT Delhi’s Office of Career Services.

“By the end of the first day of the placement season, on December 1, IIT Delhi students had received over 400 placement offers, including the biggest number of pre-placement offers in the last five years.” “Madan noted that many students received multiple employment offers.”

While IIT Madras received 43% more offers on the first day this year than last, IIT Mandi recorded a 16% increase in average wage packages.

According to IIT Madras, 34 firms made a total of 176 offers on Day 1, the greatest number of offers ever on the first day. Eleven pupils from the school have obtained overseas offers.
