The Carens will accept reservations beginning January 14 in two seating configurations.
Kia’s first vehicle for 2022, the Carens MPV, will be unveiled early next month. The engine, gearbox, and variation specifications for the MPV have been published by Kia, and customers may book it starting January 14 at Kia stores.

Engine and powertrain options for the Kia Carens
According to Kia, the Carens MPV will be available with both diesel and gasoline engines. A 1.5-litre petrol engine with 115 horsepower will come standard, with a 140-horsepower 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine available in higher trim levels. The Carens will also have a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 115 horsepower.
A six-speed manual transmission will be standard on the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines, with the latter additionally having a six-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. A seven-speed DCT transmission will be available only on the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol.
Five Kia Carens variations have been confirmed, and a feature list has been revealed
Kia also disclosed that the Carens will be available in five trim levels: Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus, with six- and seven-seat configurations available depending on the trim level.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the features available on each variation
The base Carens trim will come standard with 16-inch steel wheels with covers, two-tone black and beige interiors with indigo accents, semi-leatherette seats, second-row seat one-touch electric tumble, a 7.5-inch digital instrument cluster, six airbags, ABS, ESC, all-wheel disc brakes, rear parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
In addition to the Premium trim’s features, the Prestige trim adds an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a 12.5-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 6-speaker sound system, a rear view camera, Outside Rear View Mirrors with integrated turn signals, and front parking sensors.
16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, keyless entry and go, several drive modes (Normal, Eco, and Sport), rear washer and wiper, and a rear defogger, the last only available on DCT models, round out the list of standard features.
The Luxury standard includes LED headlights, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Kia Connect UI, 64-color ambient cabin lighting, an air purifier, telescopic steering wheel adjustment, full leatherette seats, and seatback tables for the second row.
An 8-speaker BOSE sound system, cooled wireless charging, heated seats, rain-sensing wipers, and a standard sunroof are included with the Luxury Plus model.
Booking information, projected price, and debut date for the Kia Carens
The Kia Carens will be on sale on January 14th, and we expect it to cost between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 20 lakh for the base model and Rs 20 lakh for the top-spec diesel automatic trim. Early next month, Carens will make a price announcement.
