UGC Scholarship Programs: Today is the Last day to Apply for Scholarships, and there are 17,000 Seats Available

UGC Scholarship Program: The University Grants Commission (UGC) offers four different scholarship programmes for various sorts of students. A total of 17000 places are available. The deadline for submitting an application is today.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) will complete the registration process for its four scholarship schemes on November 30. Those who have not yet applied for UGC scholarships should do so before today’s deadline.

The four UGC scholarships available are the UGC Ishan Uday Special Scheme for the North East Region, PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child, PG Scholarship for University Rank Holders, and PG SC, ST Scholarship Scheme. By accessing the National Scholarship Portal’s (NSP) official website – – interested and eligible students can register online for any of the four UGC Scholarship programmes.

University Grants Commission’s Ishan Uday Scholarship

To increase the GER, promote higher education, and motivate youngsters from economically deprived sections of the region, the UGC has decided to launch the “Ishan Uday” Special Scholarship Scheme for the North Eastern Region.

  • There are 10,000 scholarships available.


Students from the North Eastern Region (NER) whose parents’ total annual income does not exceed Rs.4.5 lakh.

Passed XII or an equivalent examination in the preceding academic year, i.e. 2017 for applications due in the 2017-18 academic year.

In the first year, get admission to any degree programme, whether it is a general degree programme or a technical/professional/medical/paramedical one (Integrated courses included).

The monthly scholarship amount is Rs.5400 for a general degree programme and Rs.7800 for technical, medical, professional, and paramedical programmes.

University of Georgia Scholarship for a PG Single Girl Child

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has established a Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child with the goal of compensating direct costs of girl education at all levels, particularly for girls who are the only girl in their family, in order to achieve and promote girls’ education.

Criteria for Eligibility

At the time of enrollment to the first year of a PG programme, female students must be under the age of 30.

Single girls who have enrolled in a regular, full-time first-year Masters Degree programme at any designated institution or post-graduate college are eligible for the programme.

The scheme does not allow for distant learning entrance to a postgraduate programme.

Students in their first and second years of university are eligible to apply if they are enrolled in a regular, full-time master’s degree programme at any recognised university, deemed university, private university, autonomous institution, or postgraduate college.

Fellowship amount: Rs.36,200/- per annum for a maximum of two years, or the duration of a PG programme. No additional funding will be offered in lieu of housing and medical costs.

UGC University Rank Holders are eligible for scholarships.

The two-year scholarship will allow undergraduate rank holders from each university to pursue their Master’s degree. The university’s top B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com. students would be required to receive rank certifications from all universities and degree-granting institutions.
