According to Union Education Minister Prakash Javadekar, Gorakhpur would be declared as a “Special Education Zone.”
Gorakhpur will be established as a “Special Education Zone” (SEZ) to equip pupils to be global citizens, according to Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan.
The minister made the comment during the 89th Foundation Week closing ceremony of the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad (MPSP) here.
“Gorakhpur, developed as a ‘knowledge city’ through three operational and one under-construction universities, will be made a ‘Special Education Zone’ (SEZ) on the lines of a ‘Special Economic Zone,’ as per the Prime Minister’s intention and requirement of the new National Education Policy,” he said.
“The goal of the SEZ is to prepare students to be global citizens and to confront global issues via academic endeavours,” noted the minister, who was invited as a chief guest.
According to Pradhan, MPSP and its students would help the city achieve this objective.
He said that the new Education Policy was formed in response to “global strategic developments” and that it intends to make India the world’s number one country and its pupils “global citizens.”
Pradhan lauded Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, calling him a “epitome of successful leadership.”
“His management is unconcerned about difficulties and is always on the lookout for solutions.” Under his leadership, Eastern Uttar Pradesh received a fertiliser factory as a gift,” he stated.
“Whenever society encounters significant difficulties, Gorakshpeeth rises up and awakens the society,” Pradhan added, applauding the Gorakshpeeth’s work in the realms of service and religion. Social revolution is impossible without education, according to Yogi Adityanath, who was also there.
“When Mahant Digvijay Nath started the MPSP in 1932, I’m sure he had similar views,” he remarked.
Yogi argues that his religion incorporates not only the way he worships, but also the entire theory of religion.
Religious institutions should be used for more than just worship; they should also serve as leadership centres. The MPSP, he claims, is called after Maharana Pratap, who embodies heroism and sacrifice.
Tributes were paid on the occasion to the soldiers who perished in a helicopter crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, on Wednesday, including Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, and Wing Commander Prithvi Singh Chauhan.
Deoria resident Group Captain Varun Singh, the lone survivor, was also prayed for.
General Rawat was the special guest at the opening ceremony of the MPSP Foundation Week last year.
“He embodied the characteristics of a committed and capable soldier.” “His statement on December 7 displays his vision in which he articulated his apprehensions about biowar and chemical war,” Yogi said in his tribute to Rawat.
